At Foremothers Botanica, our focus on animal-based ingredients combined
with whole plants distinguishes us from other skin care brands. Our use of
locally-sourced ingredients from the Pacific Northwest allows us to harness
the unique benefits of the region's unique flora and fauna in our products.

At Foremothers Botanica, our decision to formulate our products with
animal-based ingredients stems from a deep respect for ancestral
traditions, a commitment to using genuinely clean ingredients, and an ethical and sustainable approach to skin care. The use of animal-based ingredients can reduce waste and promote ethical
practices in animal husbandry. For example, we source our suet from local
ranchers who practice regenerative agriculture, which can help restore the soil's health and support the local ecosystem.
In addition to animal-based ingredients, our use of whole plants also sets us
apart from other skin care lines. Whole plants, as opposed to the isolated plant
extracts and essential oils contain a wider range of beneficial compounds
that can work synergistically to provide a more comprehensive range of
skin care benefits while also being incredibly gentle and effective.

All ingredients are locally sourced and organic. I render the tallow in-house with a triple purification process to achieve cosmetic-grade tallow. I then take locally grown organic herbs and infuse the tallow. I then add in emu oil and Oregon-grown olive oil and whip it into a luxurious cream that is wonderful for every place you have skin!
